georgia camp

wow. what an amazing week last week.

we left last sunday after church and drove to birmingham (levi's parents). it was me, meagan, levi, heather, keegan, addy and ryan. the van was packed to the fullest capacity. we got there around 12:30am. we slept for a few hours and then jumped back in the car to drive the rest of the way to adrian, ga.

monday night, the kids were ramped up and excited to be at camp. they were with us the whole way. we cid our best to pick songs that they would know and introduce a few new ones, including our originals.

every night they sang there hearts out. at one point, when i as trying to pump them up by saying, "i think you can be louder!" this girl on the front row yelled at heather and said "i can't get any louder." lol hilarious.

big shout out to all the kids that were at the georgia camp. we had a blast.

songwriting

as many of you know, i'm in fusion [worship band] and we released our first ep titled...e.p. earlier this year. we're working toward releasing a full length album in 2011 with maybe a sample ep in 2010 (with songs from the full length album).

as i have been thinking and praying about what i'd like to put into this album lyrically, i just keep feeling this overwhelming push for it to be an album of hope. from the lyrics to the arrangements and instrumentation, just songs filled with hope and joy for people who are hurting and broken.

we are having our first jam/arrangement/writing session in october and we'll be hammering out some songs that are already somewhat finished so that we can get used to the process. in the mean time, i've been trying to come up with some new song ideas and lyrics. i have about 4-5 ideas recorded and i'm anxious to see how they come out in the end.

we've talked about trying to write/develop 20 songs and then put the best 12 on the ablum. so be praying for us as this is a great goal to try and tackle.

we got to lead worship last thursday at a national day of prayer service in rowlett. despite the fact that we could never get the in-ear monitors to work, we stayed together and had a great time.

the day of we found out that a news crew was going to be there to do a story. we got on the 10 o'clock news so i thought i'd show you here :) make some comments on the youtube vid if you get a chance.

hey everyone,

hope you are having a great week. we had a great weekend in the studio. all the drums and bass tracks are finished and we have 1 song that electric is done, and another one that's almost done. so 3 more to go with electric. next weekend we'll tackle vocals and acoustic. hopefully (fingers crossed), we'll be able to get through all the vocals next weekend and then have one more day for background vox and guitars.
